I have been a lifelong resident of Montague Michigan I attended Montague Area Public Schools from K-12. I attended the Newaygo County Career-Tech Center during my Junior and Senior Years.​

My professional career began my senior year in high school as I worked for a construction company in Silver Lake Michigan. My boss and mentor Rick Smith & his crew helped to teach me the finer details of the residential industry. I am eternally grateful for my time with them. I then began my own construction company - Skyline Construction, which I still operate part-time today.

Grant Township Fire Department
​
In the winter of 1999 I joined the Grant Township Fire Department. I had the opportunity to serve with one of the greatest mentors of my life, Fire Chief Roland Brooks. For the past 22 years, I have completed many fire and EMS related trainings and obtained many credentials including: Firefighter 1 & 2, EMT Basic, Fire Officer 1, 2, 3, & 4, Fire Instructor 1, & Fire Chief 101. I held the rank of 1st Lieutenant/Training Officer when I took a voluntary leave in March of 21

After a brief factory job, I attended Westshore Community College and obtained my Associates of Arts Degree. I maintained a position on the Newaygo County Career-Tech Center Advisory Committee throughout the past 5 years at this point

I had the opportunity to work with one of my former teachers and mentor Mr. Wayne Halpin. I was hired as his paraprofessional in 2008. I was able to obtain his position as instructor after his retirement in 2010. That is a position that I continue to grow in still today. Wayne left some incredibly big shoes to fill and I continue to do the best I can to grow our program for the kids in our county.

I completed Ferris State University's Pro-Mo-TEd program and earned my bachelors degree. Construction & Technical Education.

MCTA Treasurer

In 2012, I was voted into the position of treasurer for the Michigan Construction Teachers Association. I still hold that position today. The MCTA is a group that is formed by all construction teachers in the State of Michigan. The group collaborates to help navigate the educational realm. Best practices are shared. Leaders from the Michigan Department of Education stop by to help and collaborate frequently!

I am currently attending Lamar University working towards my Masters degree in Applied Digital Learning.

Soccer, Football, Wrestling, & Baseball Coach

In 2010 I coached my first soccer team. I have coached over 25 soccer teams since then! From 2011-2020 I coached football, from youth to 8th grade. I am the current President of the Montague Wildcats Wrestling Club. Our Club supports wrestling from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I also had a brief stint as an assistant coach for White Lake Little League and Rivals Baseball Programs with a great friend and mentor Dan Meinert. I am currently the Head Montague JV Soccer Coach.

Michigan Youth Ballet Theater

Since 2016 I have been a backstage crew leader for a star wars production and several Nutcracker performances. I have been blessed to work with some pretty amazing individuals and am honored to call Sean & Erin France friends. This is a pretty incredible option available for the youth of our community and I am proud to be a small part of it.
